Welcome to What I Did This Summer
Cordoba

These are the edited versions of my favorite pics from Spain. I was in Madrid for three days, then Córdoba, Granada (2 days), Seville and Alcalá de Guadaíra. The trip was half vacation and half wedding related. This page has a few photos of Cordoba. The Mezquita(mosque) sits on the river directly opposite a tower. The tower holds a museum of Andalusian history and is reached by crossing a Roman bridge. The bridge has been rebuilt a couple times, but the uprights are still those placed by the Romans. The water wheel is a reconstruction of the one that brought water into the Mezquita. The Moors introduced an elaborate system of irrigation and water management to Andalucia. Much of it is still in use today.
